Events NSW - Sydney Festival of Football Survey

E-mail Print PDF
Well the memories will last a lifetime but those lovely people at Events NSW need your feedback to make sure it's not another 26 years between trips for the famous Glasgow Rangers down under. The survey is pretty general and it doesn't ask you to specify which team you support but there are plenty of opportunties to mention how great it was to see the Gers and the rest is just stuff which backs up why these types of events should be publically funded in future. So bears lets show our appreaciation for Events NSW who along with the promoters picked up the tab for bringing the bears down under. It just takes 5 minutes and who knows maybe we'll get an invite back to this tourney or others that might happen elsewhere in the Oceania Region seeing as we, The People, were most definitely known by our noise. WATP! The survey can be completed at http://ensw.customerdirect.com.au/ensw/start.aspx?meetingid=1838

Part 2 - Aussie Billy Boys Live from Sydney

E-mail Print PDF
ORSA would like to thank all the Aussie Billy Boys for their live performance at James Squires, Darling Harbour the other weekend in Sydney. An early start for the bears on the beers perhaps might not have been the best idea but Jim Lindsay was the ultimate professional and we got everyone on song eventually. Another great moment of a fantastic week and a wee tune we can have for along time to come... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6eYjZln8wQ

SFS tomorrow - Message from security

E-mail Print PDF
The security team at SFS have been very happy with the bears to date altough they have unfortuntately had to turn away a handful of fans due to being three sheets to the wind. The Gers section for the AEK Athens game is right under police control so they'll not be straining themselves too much, to notice anyone who's had one too many. The club might not be here again for a very long time so bears and bearettes the advice is enjoy your day, take time to savour all the details of the match and lets all try and remember the day the Glasgow Rangers came to town! WATP

Singing the Blues Down Under for the FIFA delegates

E-mail Print PDF
The great turnout by the bears at the Blackburn match has been much talked about and I even had 442 mag on the phone today. I realise that ORSA hasn't been prescriptive about the singing policy at the Fox and Lion or at the games but if you can keep in mind that the FIFA World Cup 2022 delegates will be in town tomorrow for the Sydney FC match and it would be bad PR for the club if we got our knuckles wrapped again over add-ons and the like. We have plenty of great Rangers songs and to my mind we were a bit light on praise for the gaffer on Sunday. Was there only one chorus of Walter Smith's blue and white army or did my ears deceive me? Also, lets put on a good show and perhaps give the Jim Lindsay songs a wee public airing (check out the article in ORSA tour newsletter No2). Jim Lindsay song sheets will be available at the Fox and Lion and if Sunday night is anything to go by then you lot need the practice before we Youtube it on Friday 30th July 5pm onwards at James Squires pub in Darling Harbour. I think a little dress rehearsal is order plus it's a bloody catchy song! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SeBP76KTU0U
