Matt makes the grade!

ORSA Secretary, Andy McKnight, met Matt McKay today at a local cafe and provided a welcome distraction from packing up his apartment. His house-hunting in Glasgow has started in earnest and he's hoping to fix something up not too far from Auchenhowie. He even managed to pronounce Milngavie correctly!

Matt McKay

He's itching to get started and can't wait to meet up and join the lads.  He followed the mid-week euro result and was obviously disappointed that this season he's not going to experience one of the famous European nights that he's heard so much about from Craig (Moore) and Charlie (Miller). However, with a tricky trip up to Dundee United and a home debut against our old rivals he's hoping to get off to a winning start very quickly.  The delayed start to his Rangers career due to his Socceroo's duties has been frustrating but he's keen to keep the momentum up for the national side after playing a starring role in their recent Asian cup campaign.

Matt was knowledgeable about the current squad as well as the other recent additions like Lee Wallace and is really hoping to be able to add something different in midfield. He was particularly keen to get to play alongside Steve Davis if he gets the opportunity.

The small gift of the Gallant Pioneers book was well received and he's now got the real story of what makes up the DNA of our great club and our founding fathers. I did forget to mention the test that he needs to sit when he get's to the other side but as he's part way through his teaching degree in Brisbane I'll assume that he'll get top marks!  From everyone at Brisbane RSC and ORSA we're more than confident that Matt will be top of his class and we wish him every success at the world's most successful club!
